Progression Systems
A progression system is quite simple to understand and put into play and all you are doing is increasing your wagers every time you previous bet loses in the hope of winning back all previous stakes but also locking in a profit.
They are similar to the Martingale Systems but they are not as risky as in most cases in a progression you are not doubling your wager after a losing one.
As with every betting system they cannot guarantee a win, but a savvy player will put a progression system into play when they stand a realistic chance of winning due to the betting opportunity they are wagering on.
Sports bettors in particular are very found on using progression betting systems as there are only a few outcomes of most sports related events and by concentrating on the favorite and getting the best odds they can often lock in a profit.
Progression in action
We shall now take a look at a typical progression we shall base this on the dozen sections of a roulette wheel, these payout 2-1 if you correctly guess the number that spins in which can be any of the 12 numbers you bet on.
Your unit stake is of course up to yourself and it should of course be something that you bankroll should handle, in our example we will use a unit stake of $1.
You will also have to choose a win amount, this can be any figure you choose but the smaller the amount the better as this saves the progression getting into high numbers in a short period of spins.
We shall set our win figure at $2 so based on the dozen numbers paying out 2-1, our first wager will be just $1, if it wins we shave made our target figure and all is well.
If you first wager loses you now need to place a wager on the next bet that covers your previous loss which was $1 but also wins you your target figure of $2, so that's $3 we need to win.
So to win $3 back we need to place a wager of $1.50, should it win then we will get paid back $4.50 which is your stake for that bet plus $3 profit.
This sort of progression will slowly grow as you get more and more losing spins, but conversely should the numbers be spinning your way then you can build up and lock in a good profit.
The only failing of a progression is that some players soon get bored with it and will stop playing it and start throwing chips around the layout! So never make that mistake and know when to get out with a profit.
